"Russia and the West: Working Toward a New Era of Cooperation"

Conference in cooperation with the American Council on Germany (ACG) and the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP)

Berlin, March 29 and 30, 2009

 

 

40 high-ranking business leaders, politicians and experts from governments and think-tanks from Europe, Russia and the US were invited to pursue a small-group open discussion of the key global problems in the areas of business and politics and their impact on Europe, the US and Russia. The aim of the three organizers was to bring together the finest brains from both sides of the Atlantic in a discussion with a view to developing joint, future-oriented strategies that could contribute to solving the current problems.

 

 

The conference "Russia and the West: Working toward a New Era of Cooperation" focused on two main issues:

Issue I:

Russia and the West: Strategies for Dealing with the Global Economy;Russia and the Global Financial Crisis;
Oil, Gas, and Pipelines: Interdependence and Energy Security

Issue II:

Russia and the West: Common Foreign Policy and Security Challenges;
